Drae and Phaetyn
Drae are dragon shifters, ancient and revered. But a hundred years ago, they all but disappeared.
Only one dragon has been seen in the skies of Verald since then– the king’s right hand. The creature that kills on behalf of the king. The only other Drae live with the Emperor–the strongest dragon of them all.
Phaetyn are earth-healers. They are the key to fertile ground and abundant crops. They strive to help others and are easily distinguished by their silvery hair.
When the Phaetyn refused to bow to the emperor, he had them slaughtered. If they still exist, they’re deep in hiding… and the land is dying.
Verald
Verald is divided like a pie into twelve districts, with the king’s castle on the top of a mountain at the center of the realm.
Outside of the king’s ring lie his fields/farms where most of the population toil in an attempt to meet King Irdelron’s quota for food production. If only the phaetyn were still alive to heal the stripped and barren land.
Beyond the fields lies the Money Coil, where the influential and the wealthy live. Of course, even this segment of the population has lost much since King Irdelron came into power.
The Inbetween is a semi-protected area separating the wealthy from the impoverished Penny Wheel. The majority of the population lives in this furthest region of the city.
